The relationship between the pair has broken down to such an extent that Amorim now only addresses Rashford when he is speaking to his squad as a whole, according to . The forward has not played for Manchester United since December 12 due to Amorim's concerns over his attitude and commitment. Amorim reiterated his stance on Rashford after the Red Devils' 1-0 win over Fulham last time out by claiming he would rather select the club's 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital than the forward unless things change.

Meanwhile, Rashford has said he's ready to leave Manchester United in search of a "new challenge" but is currently facing another six months in exile unless he can secure a late move before the transfer window closes on Monday, February 3. The forward's options are said to be "dwindling" and he has "not received an offer that appeals to him".
